Beach Hut No. 237 Elizabeth is one of Southwold’s renowned huts situated to the south of Gun Hill in a row of 12 similar structures. It stands, independently, in an outstanding location on the edge of the sand dunes and opens, directly, on to the sublime sandy beach.
Known locally as one of The Royals, the hut's closest neighbours being Albert and Victoria, it is ideally suited for Gun Hill Beach Cafe, which is just 4 beach huts away, and close to a limited number of car parking bays and to public toilet facilities.
With fantastic views to the north, beyond the pier, and to the harbour entrance to the south, Elizabeth is suitable for all. Wheelchair access is however very difficult due to its location on the sand dunes.
Please note: it is not permissible to sleep in any of the beach huts and there is no running water or electricity available. There are however, wind breaks, cushions, chairs, a small table, a portable gas stove, a kettle and a clock. Crockery and Cutlery for 4 people is also supplied. For your safety, the hut also contains a portable fire extinguisher and a First Aid kit.
